Job Description:

At Regions, the Auditor will perform internal audit activities in accordance with the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of the audit engagement plan, such as identifying and assessing risk

  • Perform audit engagements according to the internal audit methodology with limited supervision

  • Create workpapers that meet the audit evidence requirements with limited supervision

  • Draft audit issues using established criteria in the internal audit methodology

  • Identify process improvements for the business based on understanding and analysis of process flows/operations

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient at meeting deadlines and objectives

  • Listen actively and ask questions as required to validate understanding

  • Select appropriate communication style (meetings, emails, etc.)

  • Proficient at Word and Excel

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in internal audit, external audit, banking, or risk management/compliance

Preferences

  • Professional certification or progression towards one, preferably CPA, CIA, CISA, CFSA, CRCM, CFE, CRP, CAMS, CFIRS, CISSP, or CBA

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
